Victron Blue Smart Chargers also feature a Storage Mode which offers greater protection from positive plate corrosion than standard float mode chargers. Plus, if the battery remains connected for more than 48 hours, the charge voltage is automatically reduced to help protect against grid corrosion.

If a lead-acid battery isn't charged up properly or has discharged for days or weeks, sulfation can occur and reduce its performance. However, if you act quickly, sulfation can sometimes be countered by charging the battery at low current and a higher voltage.
